It is made from solid hardwood with a 2000lb weight capacity which is more than 4 times the industry standard of other loft beds that generally only have a 400lb weight capacity. It is a strong and sturdy bed that will last for several years and at a later date, the extender legs can be removed and it can used as a standard bed on the floor.
