Hi and we appreciate you checking in with us. Yes the end ladder can be placed on either side by changing which side the opening is installed on. Switching the headboard/footboard as you mentioned. Thank you!

Hello, I am wondering if at assembly, the headboard and footboard can be switched so that the ladder is on the other side (left instead of right)?
